Thus, MGW Law was born with the purpose of representing those facing wrongfully denied insurance claims and insurance bad faith in the state of Wisconsin. ​​John’s career is well-rounded having spent time on both sides of the aisle, successfully prosecuting and defending hundreds of matters for both individuals and institutional clients. From complex medical malpractice to nearly every aspect of insurance litigation, John has successfully recovered tens of millions of dollars for his clients throughout the years. Outside the courtroom, John is passionate about education and speaking to lawyers, health care providers, insurance personnel, classrooms, and other institutions on topics ranging from evidentiary matters, insurance law, medical malpractice, negligence, wrongful claims denials, and much more.

As one of the founders of MGW Law, Ryan dedicates his practice to representing policyholders and accident victims who have been treated unfairly by insurance companies. Ryan spent the first decade of his law career representing insurance companies in a wide variety of complex matters. This experience provides Ryan a unique perspective on how insurance companies work, as well as how to get the most for his clients. Ryan has argued his clients’ cases in front of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, Wisconsin Appeals Court and 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago.

Prior to joining MGW, Josh represented insurance companies in a wide variety of legal matters allowing a deep understanding for the way insurance companies process and value claims. This critical experience is Josh’s motivation to fight for MGW clients that have had their claims unfairly delayed or denied by an insurance company. Josh has appeared in hundreds of cases and assisted policyholders and others from the early stages of an insurance claim to resolution. Josh has used this experience to obtain substantial settlements and judgments for his clients.

Kati Mayer is an attorney at MGW Law and a Manitowoc native. Kati started her career at a firm that focused heavily on the representation of insurance companies and worked to expand into plaintiff’s work. When invited to join MGW Law, she jumped on the opportunity to work with a firm that was founded by individuals who are passionate about representing people who have suffered due to the unlawful actions of others.

Travis Yang

A Sheboygan native, Attorney Travis L. Yang is a graduate of Marquette University Law School and has been practicing law in Wisconsin for several years. While working at a Madison-based nonprofit for three years, Travis saw how law could positively affect individuals and organizations, leading to his career in law and role at MGW fighting for clients’ rights. Travis is of Hmong descent and a fluent Hmong speaker and writer, allowing him to represent and service the growing Hmong population in Wisconsin.
